Join us at our exciting new venue, Tredgolds, for a six-week exploration of colour through drawing. This course is designed for anyone who would like to expand their approach to drawing, experiment with new materials, and gain confidence in using colour as a powerful visual language.
Working with a range of media including soft pastels, oil pastels, ink, watercolour and oil paint, we will explore how these materials can be used in a drawing-based way. Through a series of practical projects and creative exercises, we will investigate how colour can describe form, texture, atmosphere and space.
Using inspiration from both historical and contemporary artists, we will experiment with different techniques, approaches and scales of working, discovering how colour can transform the drawing process. Expect plenty of opportunities to play, explore and push beyond familiar methods while developing your own visual ideas.
Whether you are new to colour or looking to refresh your practice, this course offers a supportive environment to try something different, take creative risks and develop a more confident and expressive use of colour in your artwork
