In this weeks class we focused on drawing the figure and experimented with two sets of limited palettes including a light, mid and dark tone, Our students are learning how the soft pastels blend with one another and make directional marks to express the turning of the form.

We've started our brand new course Portraits & Figures in Soft Pastels & Charcoal. Starting to look at drawing the structure of the head in charcoal and thinking about tonal value. Charcoal and pastels are direct and expressive mediums to use in drawing, where you get to explore lots of mark making. There was such an enthusiastic energy amongst the students and we can't wait for this Tuesdays class in the Round Tower.
