Wednesday 18th | 10:00am – 3:30pm
Join us for a full-day live session working from a professional life model, exploring the process of moving from drawing into painting.
The day will begin with a series of loose, energetic drawing exercises to warm up and loosen the hand. After a short tea break, we’ll move into creating an underpainting, working in your preferred single pigment with solvent.
Following lunch, there will be a flesh-tone mixing demonstration and discussion on approaches to painting skin tones, before continuing to develop your painting during the afternoon session.
This session sits somewhere between facilitated and tutored. It’s not suitable for absolute beginners, but is ideal for those with some prior drawing or painting experience. There will be direction, demonstrations, and suggestions throughout the day. Katie and I will both be on hand if you’d like more focused guidance, but it’s also an opportunity to work independently, or experimentally and use the time in your own way.
